Flickering

dust August 4, 2019 0 Comments

Roy Herndon Smith

Through the flickering
of leaves in breezes still light
holds the trees and me.

Two birds flit, flashing
sun on wings, out of sight and
into emptiness.

Civilization
flickers, flitters, and flames out.
Earth and love abide.
