Moments

Roy Herndon Smith

A moment ago
light stretched on the long limb
now all in cloud’s shade.

A moment ago
clouds cast into even shade
all now sunlit bright.

A moment ago
bright light played with hard shadows
all now muted soft.

A moment ago
a black plastic bag tumbled
on its now gone way.
