COVID-19 Diary: 3/23/20

The core delusion is that I am here and you are there.—Jenny Offill, Weather

A moaning wind in
the night—the storm of mourning
darkening the day.

Windy demagogues
whirl around their empty Is,
razing all that stands.

We who have hunker
down in our homes, waiting for
winds and words to die.

We who do not have
sing as we are being blown
away, “We are you

and you are we, all
together now, the worms crawl
in, the worms crawl out.”
