she whose justice extends widely—Robert Graves
orpheus sings of
heaven as he flees from hell
he glances back and
turns into the rock
of silenced anguish on which
kings build palaces
eurydice roars
as she rises through the earth
into the sunlight
orpheus and walls
crumble into the dust from
which new life explodes
